As I've been pondering future post ideas and branching out from beyond SharePoint here and there, I realized I have quite a few technologies that are "near and dear" to me that I could write about.
In no particular order:
laptop
smartphone
iPod Nano
Kindle
iPad
Windows Media Center
xbox360
my KEURIG! (added the morning after I originally posted in a caffine withdrawn stupor)
While you probably wouldn't blog about them like me :), how many technologies do you consider "near and dear" to you?
I think my most prized piece of technology is my iPad followed closely by my laptop. I could probably live without my smartphone and definitely without my Keurig. I don't drink coffee too often...
I would agree the iPad and laptop are probably at the top of my list, but I think I would reverse the order since I do both work and personal work (I'm a seller on Etsy) on my laptop. The iPad is for consuming, but the laptop is for doing.
I've never really thought about this before, but here's the stuff I couldn't live without:
1. My Keurig (though I use the refillable coffee kcup so I can buy whatever type I want) 2. My iPhone (I'm addicted...I really need a 12 step program for disconnecting from the web) 3. Quia.com for creating quizzes and activities for my students 4. Spreadsheets. I'm a fiend. I use them for everything. 5. Yoga - not really a technology, but I need it to stay sane during the school year!
I need to checkout the features on the nook - I'm a kindle user right now but need (okay, WANT) to upgrade to a newer model and it might be time to shop around a bit.
Mine are kindle, laptop, iPad. I like my keurig, too, but it's not as dear to me as the others!
ReplyDeleteI definitely could survive without the Keurig - but it would be replaced with the Starbucks drive thru which is much harder on my pocketbook. :)
DeleteSo many things are near and dear to me!! I couldn't even try to survive sans iPhone, iPad, laptop, desktop, treadmill, keurig, and a few others!!
ReplyDeleteOoh! Treadmill - hadn't considered something like that...but you're right, that is an awesome piece of technology.

DeleteI don't have a Keurig but I do visit McDonald and Dunkin Donuts at least several times a week. i love my coffee--it is the nectar of the gods!!
ReplyDeleteAmen! And I love McDonald's new coffee - I don't have a Dunkin Donuts near me but I've heard they have great coffee!
DeletePretty much a laptop for me, unless you count a television as a piece of technology.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely count television - especially all the stuff that goes with it, DVR, Netflix, Hulu, et cetera.

My little canon s95 camera and my computer top my list. iPhone isn't far behind. Hoping a new SLR will soon be very near and dear.
ReplyDeleteI saw your post on this! Good luck in your upgrade!
DeleteProbably my macbook, then my iPad then my phone. I also love my camera and my nook. Man, I'm a geek! Oh, and I love my apple tv.
